How to Use

The number of groups that can be created is unlimited.  This does not infer that an unlimited number of groups will be of benefit to the school's improvement efforts.

Groupings can be beneficial in analyzing ISAT data for subsets of students.

Groupings can help school decision-makers attain balance in assigning students to classrooms or programs because of the ability of the ISDW to view student data with multiple, simultaneous filtering parameters.

Groupings can help teachers review ISAT data by making it easier for them to focus on those students assigned to them.

A Note from the ISDW Design Team

The ISDW design team was initially hesitant to develop a grouping module because of the possibility that such groupings might be used in personnel evaluations. The ISDW design team strongly cautions school administrators to seriously consider the implications of using this tool in such a manner.

Groups can:

Allow teachers to see only those students assigned to their classrooms.

Cluster students of similar academic or developmental backgrounds.

Help school leadership teams with decisions that lead to free and appropriate education for all students under their care.
